south of Umtata mouth
in the heart of the former Transkei
yes folks
there is still a lot of action heading up the coast
with birds flying up and down the coast
and here and there I can see them guaging their height
according to sardines depth under the water
and then diving with pin point accuracy
to catch their beloved food choice
the sardine
I must have counted over 10 whales
giving us a wonderful show
as they breach out of the ocean
slamming their tails against the water
while swimming in a northerly direction
up the coastline towards the south coast
this is surely
one of the largest migrations that we are witnessing
Sean maybe you can check with Kevin
if there is more action on the way
and perhaps
this can give us an indication of how big the shoal
really is hey
the birds are sitting in small patches
scattered all over
this shows that this might be the tail end of the show
oh with a light south Westerly wind
and a sea temperature plus minus 17 degrees Celsius
the water is super clean
with great visibility for those interested in diving
a couple of crayfish ha ha yes
lots of shad or elf as it's known down here
coming out early morning and late afternoon
so yes South Coast
it's not over yet expect some great fishing up your way
