Masvingo was the first urban settlement to be established by the settlers, making it Zimbabwe's oldest. It is the provincial capital of Masvingo province, and it has a population of 100 000.

It was formerly called Fort Victoria after the queen of England at the time, it was renamed Masvingo in 1982. Masvingo was declared a town on 1926 and gained city status in 2002. Masvingo is located 27km from the Great Zimbabwe, from which the name Masvingo was derived. Masvingo means "stone ruins" or a fortress of stone structures.

Nice wide streets. Africans have to own the means of producing, distributing, selling and storage. I see foreigners names in store fronts.

Wow Masvingo has huge potential to beat Harare if panned well and modernised with new long buildings, i like the roads are wide enough no pressure plus fresh air in the city. Thanks Mr Mazai

So happy to see Masvingo. One of the popular places in Zimbabwe. Never bn there but always wanted to visit it coz of the never ending buzz that includes development n places of interest to visit. Love the way they speak too. Thanx Mr Zim 🇿🇼 fo taking us this far seeing Masvingo

Am kenyan,Hope to visit Zimbabwe in near future, too much similarity with kenya, Dutch reformed church was in kenya too, Eldoret town, Fredrick de klerk grandfather was a preacher there.
