I lived in Maputo for 2 months last year (I'm Portuguese), and out of 50+ countries I’ve been to, Mozambique is the one that touched me the most. The slow rhythm of life, the openness and kindness of the people, the seafood… and the beauty everywhere ;) I always felt safe, even walking alone in central Maputo at 1am. Mozambique has a soul that stays with you. I can’t wait to return, visit Ilha de Moçambique and Vilankulos, and hopefully do some volunteering in Tete. Much love for this country❤

Surprisingly low density housing. Lots of space and wide streets, even in the slums. It feels like a very relaxed place, almost like it could be somewhere in the Caribbean
