My friend was a doctoral student at NYU and was sitting in battery park reading a book and drinking her morning coffee when everything went down. Her PTSD was so bad she had to take a leave of absence from her grad work to try to get her head sorted out. 😢

I watched it unfold on tv from across the ocean and had nightmares for days, can’t imagine watching it from my balcony 😥 Christina and her husband must have nerves of steel

I have wondered for a long time if my beautiful friends death could be related to her exposure on 9/11. She was a dancer. She was hurrying to an audition to perform on broadway when she noticed ash falling all around her. She hung on for years. She passed this year. Damnit. This shouldn’t have happened.

I was at work. One of the attorneys called and told me to turn on the TV in the conference room. I watched the second one hit live. I could not imagine being there in person.

I remember going to school that day (I went to a private Christian high school). Earlier that morning before anything happened I tried to stay home with a stomach ache my parents sent me to school. I went to my first period class Bible. We were talking about David. Then we went to second period science. Then the administrator came on the intercom announcing the first tower had been hit. We went into the lab and watched everything unfold. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that day.

First day I was late to work. Sitting in front of the tv and couldn’t move.

I was seven, and I do remember that day vividly. I was not in New York. Thank you for sharing.

The one thing keeping me from bursting into tears watching this is the mug that you keep drinking out of. I have the same mug that says “grateful” but backwards lol. I was asleep when this happened (suburbs of Philly). I was working night shift at that time and a family member called late in the day and woke me up to tell me about the towers.
