This hurricane had extreme rapid intensification of 70 mph in 24 hours. Extreme rapid intensification is usually 58 mph in 24 hours. This hurricane was so much faster because this year the Carribbean waters were 1.4 degrees warmer because of climate change because hurricanes get their power from the heat of the water
