Hurricane Dorian Threatens the US Back to Cat 3 September 4 23:00 EDT

Hurricane Dorian somehow found a way to get one last push of intensification and is back to a major hurricane before it will start impacting North and South Carolina later on Thursday and Friday.

Current CDPS is looking to be stage 5 once it makes what could be a potential landfall near Morehead City, NC Dumping as much as 8 inches of rain and having as much as 100 mile per hour winds at that time. It will then punch through the Outer Banks and then graze Cape Cod before impacting the Canadian Maritimes before eventually turning post tropical by that time.

- North Carolina/Virginia border to Chincoteague VA
- Chesapeake Bay from Smith Point southward

Tropical Storm Watches for...
- North of Chincoteague VA to Fenwick Island DE
- Chesapeake Bay from Smith Point to Drum Point
- Tidal Potomac south of Cobb Island

Take note that due to the sheer size of Dorian's wind profile that some of the Hurricane and Tropical Storm Warnings extend well inland and that the warnings listed cover the Coastline and may not represent the full extent of the watches and warnings that are currently in place.
