When mercenaries and an oil company do more than your government to help its not a good sign.

It's so sad seeing the images of the trucks that didn't make it to the quarry

This is fantastic, tremendously detailed, and incredibly useful. The NY Times needs to pay whoever is doing these visual investigations more money. This is legit 21st century journalism.

I get you want to go after the companies - but they actually tried to help. They didn’t need to but they did. Go after the government and the military

All of this is both shocking and, sadly, unsurprising. Kudos yet again to the Times Visual Investigations unit. This is serious journalism told with clear evidence and without a wasted word.

My dad was actually project manager on the gas site he luckily left a week before they stormed the compound. Total were asvised about the attacks by security personnel on site however they did not evacuate as soon as possible resulting in more than 100 ex-pats being killed. People were found beheaded and mutilated in the bush surrounding the place.
