How India Helped Mozambique After a Devastating Cyclone

In March 2019, Cyclone Idai wrought devastation upon Southern Africa, leaving a trail of destruction that included homes being destroyed, lives being shattered, and critical infrastructure being decimated, with Mozambique's city of Beira being hit the hardest among all affected areas. In the face of overwhelming destruction and despair, India responded swiftly and selflessly through a well-coordinated effort known as Operation Sahayata, showcasing its enduring commitment to providing humanitarian aid to those in dire need. 🇮🇳 The Indian Air Force aircraft played a crucial role by carrying essential relief supplies, including food, water, and medical equipment, to remote and inaccessible regions where help was urgently needed. 🏥 In addition to delivering supplies, field hospitals were established to provide immediate and urgent medical care to the injured and suffering victims of the cyclone. 🌍 It is noteworthy that the aid provided was not limited to Mozambique alone; neighboring countries like Zimbabwe and Malawi also received critical support to help them recover from the impacts of the cyclone. This tremendous effort was not about politics or gaining power; rather, it was a heartfelt reflection of India's deep-rooted values that emphasize helping those in need, crossing borders, and offering assistance without any conditions attached.
