Heavy rains and floods claimed the lives of at least 20 people

Most parts of the country experienced heavy downpours Saturday.
In Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria, 16 people were killed in a traffic accident when a minibus taxi and a bakkie collided in driving conditions made difficult by the inclement weather.
Two people also died when a minibus taxi was swept away in Kwaggafontein in Mpumulanga.
The South African Weather Service has warned that heavy rains will persist for the rest of the weekend.
