On September 6, militants abducted and killed a Christian in Cabo Delgado province. Days earlier, around 30-50 jihadists crossed into neighbouring Niassa province and burned down a Catholic church along with a police post, government building, homes and other infrastructure 💔⛪️🏡 The assault forced 2,700 people to flee the surrounding area, while subsequent attacks and fears of further jihadist violence caused additional displacement. Islamic State Mozambique has previously specifically targeted CHRISTIANS and Christian communities 🚨✝️ The Islamist insurgency in northern Mozambique began in 2017 and has since killed thousands of people and displaced more than one million 💔🇲🇿

Isaiah 59:4 No one calls for justice, Nor does any plead for truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies; They conceive evil and bring forth iniquity. Isaiah 59:6 Their webs will not become garments, Nor will they cover themselves with their works; Their works are works of iniquity, And the act of violence is in their hands. Isaiah 59:7 Their feet run to evil, And they make haste to shed innocent blood; Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; Wasting and destruction are in their paths. Isaiah 59:8 The way of peace they have not known, And there is no justice in their ways; They have made themselves crooked paths; Whoever takes that way shall not know peace.
