Descrição

Make sure to select a high quality setting, at least 1440 (little gear icon).

Taken from a simulation of the weather over Australia, AUS400, this shows tropical cyclone Debbie as represented by the computer simulation. It renders data from 2.1 billion grid points and flies around and into the cyclone. It's in 360 degrees so don't forget you can hit "pause" anytime and have a look around you! The green-blue-ish surfaces denote areas of strong rain.
If you get lost, look for the little airplane which shows you the way.

The data has been published by the Australian Research Council's Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes (CLEX, www.climateextremes.or.au) and is openly available at http://dx.doi.org/10.25914/5f1e4e3e3de2e. The dataset is much larger than the here shown 2.1billion points.
