Explore Mozambique with TeachBeyond
Descrição
Mozambique, a beautiful country in southeastern Africa along the Indian Ocean, shares its borders with Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Eswatini, and South Africa. Shaped by its unique geography, history, and cultural influences, Mozambique is a place where many people hold a largely secular worldview. While we recognize the great strength and resilience of its people, there remains a significant need for the hope of the gospel, as well as increased access to quality education. The national literacy rate currently stands at around 55%, emphasizing this need.
TeachBeyond partners with local educational institutions in Mozambique to help provide Christ-centered education, believing that through learning rooted in the love and truth of Christ, individuals can be transformed into all God intends.
Christian Academy in Mozambique (CAM), located in Matola just outside the capital city of Maputo, began its journey in 1996 with only 12 students. Since joining the TeachBeyond family in 2022, CAM has grown to serve more than 120 students from 12 different countries. CAM's mission is to use high-quality, Christ-centered education to transform the hearts of students, families, and staff. The school emphasizes the development of godly character and academic excellence within a nurturing environment.
More recently, TeachBeyond also partnered with Rapale International School (RIS) in Nampula, Mozambique. RIS aims to offer excellent, holistic English education in a Christ-honoring environment, nurturing students to think, speak, and act from a God-centered worldview. The school serves around 230 student - both local and expatriate - and invites educators to join in shaping students who think, speak, and act from a God-centered perspective.
These partnerships are just one way TeachBeyond is striving to walk alongside communities in Mozambique, expanding access to education and nurturing both academic and spiritual growth.
