Cyclone Joaninha Update - 12am MUT March 26, 2019

Cyclone Joaninha continues to strengthen as it begins to make its closest approach to the island of Rodrigues tonight, with sustained winds of 120mph (190kph) and higher gusts. Torrential rain has already begun on the island, with a further 250mm anticipated over the next 48 hours. The storm is only 88 miles offshore, and is likely to close that distance until its closest pass later this morning.
