Cyclone Idai threat increases - 8pm EAT March 12, 2019

With rainfall forecasts increasing for this weekend, disaster could be imminent for Mozambique and Malawi, which were already impacted by the precursor to Cyclone Idai last week. The storm itself is a little weaker, but is showing signs of reintensification in the last few hours.
The storm is likely to intensify at least a little this week, with landfall expected on Thursday or Friday in central Mozambique with sustained winds of over 180km/h.
