Cyclone Idai survives into Zimbabwe - 5pm CAT March 16, 2019

#CycloneIdai is holding on as a tropical storm this evening, but is likely to lose this status overnight as it edges further into Zimbabwe. Whilst the center of the storm has already crossed the border, the worst of the rainfall remains firmly over Mozambique, with a further 600mm possible for the area in the next few days. The extent of catastrophe is still yet to be established even at a basic level, although it's feared that at least 171 have been killed by the storm and its precursor last weekend.
