Cyclone Idai still strong after landfall - 5am CAT March 15, 2019

#CycloneIdai made landfall at 12:35am CAT this morning, with winds of 115mph (180kph) sustained, and has weakened only slightly since then, down to 105mph (170kph) and a pressure of 966mb.
The storm still has the potential to deliver huge amounts of rainfall over central Mozambique and into Zimbabwe, and tropical storm force winds could survive until the storm reaches the border.
With at least 71 killed from the precursor to this storm last weekend, it is feared that the total cost of this storm will not be known for some time.
