Cyclone Gezani to strike Madagascar until February 11th, heavy rains in Australia & more coming.
Descrição
So, Cyclone Gezani is about to make landfall in Madagascar by February 10th into February 11th. It will probably be just like a strong tropical storm, mid-range tropical storm, but a few models show that this might be a strong hurricane, actually, because major models only have a tropical storm, but some high-resolution hurricane models have like a Category 2 hurricane, so please monitor this cyclone closely and be ready, have some preparations done, and stay safe across the coast of eastern Madagascar, around the central coast. So please stay safe with these cyclone, and then also be careful. There in Australia, there's the remnants of Cyclone Mittchell in western Australia with some very heavy rains from winds, it will already dissipate in the next 48 hours. And then after that, there'll be a disturbance across Queensland, the Northern Territory and New South Wales that might leave more than 200 millimeters across central Queensland and near the coast of Queensland as well in the end of next week and next weekend. So please be careful across Queensland, and it might go into the Coral Sea and try to have some cyclogenesis, but still we can't know much about that. And we're still watching the Coral Sea, northern Australia and the central Indian Ocean in the next few weeks, just for some possible quick spin-ups. And then be careful with some heavy rain around Vanuatu, Fiji, the Solomon Islands, northern Kiribati, and there across Micronesia, the eastern Philippines, especially around the east of the Philippines, more than 100 millimeters. Most of Indonesia, be careful, showers and storms, and maybe southern Sri Lanka and the central Indian Ocean. So stay safe in those areas, some strong winds and rain across New Zealand the end of next week. And a front to cool things down in southern Australia, but still some very hot temperatures. So yeah, stay safe, be careful with some tropical showers around central southern Africa, and yeah, so please be careful with these cyclones and keep monitoring.
