Cyclone Gelena to pass Mauritius today - 6am MUT February 9, 2019

Cyclone Gelena is about to make its closest approach to Mauritius, staying further north than initially expected meaning that the island should escape tropical storm force winds. However, gusts could still be hazardous along with heavy downpours throughout Saturday and Saturday night.
The island of Rodrigues is now at most risk from the storm, and is currently in the crosshairs for a direct hit late Saturday night or Sunday morning. The storm could strike Rodrigues with hurricane or even major hurricane conditions, depending on intensity changes later today.
