The death toll from Cyclone Freddy in Africa’s Malawi and Mozambique has risen past 200 on march 15, after the record-breaking storm triggered floods and landslides. Rescue workers warned that more victims were likely as they scoured destroyed neighborhoods for survivors even as hopes dwindled. Freddy appears to have broken the world record for the most bouts of rapid intensification, defined as an increase in wind speed of 80km per hour in a period of 24 hours
