Cyclone Chido was an extremely devastating system that rapidly intensified in the Southwest Indian Ocean, striking the islands of Agaléga and St. Brandon during its intensification. Chido then glazed northern Madagascar before severly impacting French territory, Mayotte and the island of Comoros; leaving catastrophic damage behind. Chido then swiftly paced towards Mozambique and made landfall in Mecufi and later dissipated inland, also bringing impacts as it did so.
