Bazaruto Part II: Challenges in East Africa
Descrição
The Badco fishing team is now nine days into their month long trip in Bazaruto, Mozambique. The first week of fishing was better than expected with several fish coming in above the 500 pound mark. Including a 900+ pounder the team released just a handful of days into the trip.

The fishing team continues to pick away at Marlin over the next several days, with a handful of quality models coming to the boat. In an attempt to gather more information about the Black Marlin of Bazaruto, the team has partnered up with local biologists and sponsored 5 satellite tags to deploy on large females. After closer inspection, the team realizes the tags aren’t correctly programmed, and returns them to be reprogrammed.
A few days of poor weather bring in a large body of green water, dramatically impacting the local fishery. In an attempt to find clean water, Anthony and Michael take the Badco Helicopter to circumnavigate the island. Very little blue water remains around the small tropical island, making fishing difficult.
To break things up the team has a large party on the island, giving tours to locals of the 175’ Badco Support mothership.
The following week of fishing is a bit slow, and the team brings on local fisherman Duarte Rato. An individual who has helped the fishing team immensely over their short stay in Bazaruto.
With the Satellite tags returned and reprogrammed, the group is able to successfully tag two female black Marlin before things take a turn for the worse…

Anthony, yet again just enjoying living his dream!!! Enjoyed hearing you describe the differences between black marlin and blue marlin. Such incredibly awesome too tier predators of the ocean!! I've spent over 4 decades fishing in Hawaii where I'm born and raised, a lot living in kona, but I loved to fish the wild remote areas in the rough waters exposed to strong trade winds, where few people fished. I've been blessed to have caught both, but in Hawaii, mostly blue marlin. My late cousin, captain Peter Hoogs fishing kona, actually caught both species over the 1000 Ln. Mark! Big marlin in particular, are just the most exciting and challenging game fish!! I've lived my dream and made it come true.. it's such a privilege!!! Wishing Anthony and the Bad co crew and support a great 2025 new year!! What a dream!!! Simply inspiring to all. I have the greatest of respect for all of this amazing first class operation!! You're setting the mark so high, it's great to see you doing this! Aloha D.L

Shame om the yt algorithm, amazing footage, best crew, insane fishing. Why would the algorithm not push this to the front of everyone’s feed?

Man, the camaraderie is second to none... Sorry to hear what happened in Newport. "All replaceable, life goes on. Let's go fishing!" all your videos remind me of my dad telling me all about the 88' Hatteras/Bertram Shootout Stories. He passed away last year June 15th. The day before fathers day & your videos always make me smile. Make memories, not dreams.
