28 years on, an investigation into the plane crash that killed Mozambique's first president Samora Machel and 34 others is still inconclusive. South Africa and Mozambique want the investigation to continue. Machel and 34 others died in a plane crash in Mbuzini, Mpumalanga on October 19, 1986. Foul play has been suspected..with some alleging it was intentionally brought down using a false beacon.
