In Western Switzerland, 57 mm fell in Vevey, Vaud and 56 mm in Schoe, a town in the neighboring Valais. The city of Basel recorded a rainfall of 58 mm in 24 hours. Typical monthly rainfall in Basel is 88 mm. 58 mm is two-thirds of a typical rain in one day.

Storm damage caused the cancellation of trains in the Canton of Bern between Belp and Thun due to platform flooding.

However, not everyone in Switzerland can expect relief from the dry heat that has gripped Europe. Although there should be at least some rain in all regions by Sunday, how much is unknown.
