Tropical Cyclone Emnati hits Madagascar on February 23rd 2022.
Wind speeds of over 100 kilometers per hour were recorded as the Cyclone made landfall on Madagascar's South-East coast.
Warnings are in place for flash floods with heavy rain and tidal surges expected to cause flooding in low lying areas.
Power cuts are expected, with supplies already weakened following previous storms. Further damage is likely to be caused to crops, as well as buildings and roads.
The Cyclone has already impacted Réunion and Mauritius, with it's maximum wind speed measuring 210 kilometers per hour as it strengthened in the Indian Ocean.
The Cyclone is the fourth to hit Madagascar this year, following Ana, Batsirai and Dumako, which caused damage and flooding across the country, as well as across South East Africa, including Mozambique and Malawi.
